I bought this beautiful pink tagua necklace in Ecuador many years ago. Otovalo is a small mountain village with one of the best artisan markets you will find anywhere. I love to shop there.

Tagua is white in its natural state so the pieces on this necklace have been dyed. The white natural tagua is what gives tagua the name vegetable ivory. Check out the nuts below.
