It amazes me how the tagua carvers can see these beautiful creatures in the nut. That’s what they tell me. They study the nut until they determine which animal is in the nut. I believe this but I also think they study nuts until they find the animals they want because certain carvers carve the same animal often. This makes sense, because if you are a good frog or turtle carver, why do birds? This artist does a nice tagua frog, doesn’t he?
