This is a tagua carving that shows just why tagua is called vegetable ivory or ivory nut. It is a great carving but the polishing is what makes it for me. If you are interested, the artists use the same hard compound that is used to polish chrome on the big 18 wheelers to polish tagua carvings. I buy the blocks of the compound and cut them into fourths. Then I trade them to the artists for carvings. It is fun.
