The added attraction for this carving is the color of the nut. It was in just the right stage of decay when the artist began the carving. The decay is what gives the piece that dark color. Once the nut is carved the decay process ceases. So you get a neat snake eating a frog tagua carving out of an unusual tagua nut. This carving is about 30 years old.
