Wounaan Indian Vintage Tagua Nut Turtle Carving-Panama 20122927L

This is a really interesting turtle tagua carving. It is old and shows the early carving techniques employed in those days. The feature that really appeals to me is the way the artist left the shuck or outer covering of the nut on the back of the eggshell and then polished it well. It adds a neat color.

Every tagua carving is a one-of-a-kind treasure.
