Here is another unusual iguana tagua carving. I call it a pedestal carving because the artist makes the carving tall so there is room for the iguana's tail. Look at it closely.

I suppose this fellow has been in our inventory for 20 years or more. And look at the condition...these carvings will be here after I am gone. No wonder tagua is called vegetable ivory.
