Wounaan Indian (Bird) Grabado Etching Tagua Nut Carving - Panama 21022122L

This is one of the few remaining grabados or etched and painted tagua carvings I have left.

These were highly popular with the tagua artists in the early 1990's. I remember having about 100 pounds of them back then but today I only have a handful left. I chose a few to keep and decided to sell the rest. This one is more painted than etched but it is an excellent example of the tagua nut itself. It will help collectors explain to their admirers just what a tagua nut looks like.

Every tagua carving is a one-of-a-kind treasure.
