Wounaan Indian Carved Turtle Tagua Pendant-Panama 20093011L

This tagua turtle pendant measures 1" x 1.25".

This is a rather special Turtle pendant carving. It was carved by Levi Cheucarama, one of the best turtle tagua carvers I know. It has been dyed with a concoction cooked up by using cocobolo wood chips and sawdust.

Levi was working his way through college back in the 1990’s and throughout that period I bought a bag full of these carvings to help him with his tuition. He’s a lab tech now. Now all I have to do is live long enough to sell them all.

Every tagua carving is a one-of-a-kind treasure.
